Born and raised in the town of Henty in the Riverina of NSW. Karralee Meyer cannot remember a time when she hasn’t had a love for food. Much of her childhood was spent in the kitchen on her family’s property learning the art of cooking from her Nana.
She believes that her love of using fresh, local produce came from using eggs laid by the chooks, meat grown on their paddocks, vegetables grown in the vege patch or picked from the orchard on their farm.
After moving to Canberra to undertake some formal hospitality and catering training, Karralee decided to join the public service, but continued with her passion and turned her love of food into a part-time profession, which saw her catering most weekends.
Karralee made the move to turn her part-time passion into a full-time career in 2013 and moved back to Henty. Since then, Karralee has grown her business and catered for a variety of events and clients. She has developed a client base which reaches from North-East Victoria all the way through to the Riverina, Canberra and beyond.
Karralee prides herself on liaising with her clients to create decadent and delicious menus which reflect each individual event and meet the client’s budget and exceed their expectations.
Where Food by Karralee has left a lasting impression includes weddings, milestone birthdays, corporate lunches, private dinner parties, large special occasions and cooking classes.
